WASHINGTON – Never in the 30 years since the Cold War’s end has a US president entered a new year facing an explosive brew of geopolitical and political uncertainty, CNBC has said.

In an op-ed published Saturday, the US media outlet pointed out that the convergence of external and internal perils, amid deep US political divisiveness and international weakness, raises the difficulty level for any effective response.

For the upcoming year 2022, which the article called “a year of living dangerously,” the greatest danger for the United States is the swirl of uncertainties.

Washington’s adversaries and allies alike questioned its internal cohesiveness, external capability and willingness to act, it added.
